This painting was created by first applying a thick layer of heavy body acrylic paint, then "carving" into it to expose the black background underneath. This technique also allowed me to experiment with the paint's buildup, adding rich texture to the piece. It felt almost like sculpting with paint.

The materials chosen for the original artwork have been meticulously selected and undergone more than ten years of experimentation and creation.
Acrylic paintings are done with Golden Heavy Body Acrylics. This type of paint has been offered since 1980 and is known for its intense color and rich consistency. Golden Artist Colors’ headquarters and factory are located in New Berlin, New York. Fun fact: this company is employee owned and the paints are safe to use around our precious fur friends, such as Olive.
