How do I buy an original?

You can buy artwork directly from the website.  I do not always have all my inventory available to order online because some are set aside to be displayed and sold at shows.  If you are interested in anything seen on social media please contact me directly and I can set that aside for you. Visit our Contact Page.

Can I correspond directly with Occipital herself before I make a purchase?

Absolutely!  I want to be sure all my collectors are excited about displaying my artwork.  Never hesitate to ask questions or reach out to learn more about your piece. Email me through our contact form.

Can I commission a painting?

Yes, timelines vary on commissions depending on the concept.  Reach out for more information regarding the process.

Do you design tattoos?  Can I get a tattoo of a painting?

I have a handful of tattoos out in the world.  Reach out with the painting you would like tattooed.  I will create a file for your tattoo artist for a small fee.

Print quality & details.

All reproductions (including canvas and giclee prints) are high quality and the production is done in my art studio.  They are created on a large format (very nice!) printer.  Cut by hand to ensure quality and if printed on canvas they are stretched in house as well.

Framing originals:

All originals sold unframed have finished gallery wrapped sides.  If you would like an unframed artwork framed please send me an email on our contact form.

How is my artwork going to be shipped?

Artwork ships two different ways depending on size.  Most pieces under 36x56 ship UPS ground.  They are packed with precision and insured.  Artwork larger than this size will be crated and shipped freight. This means your art will be delivered in a wooden box.  You will know before shipment if your artwork will be delivered freight with easy instructions on how to open the box.  If by chance your delivery gets to you damaged you have 24 hours to send me the information needed (link here) to get a refund and replacement.

Can I pick up my artwork from your studio?

Yes, pick up is always available at my studio in Cranston, Rhode Island.  You should see an option at check out when ordering online.

Can I schedule an appointment at thestudio?  Even if I do not live nearby?

Absolutely!  It is a joy to have you come by the studio located in Cranston, Rhode Island.  I do offer virtual appointments as well so you can get a tour of the studio, see works in progress, and discuss a piece right for you!  Please send potential appointment dates through our contact form.  All messages go directly to me.

Returns

Every order is handled with care.  Unfortunately due to high cost in shipping I am unable to accept returns but if an order is delivered damaged you have 24 hours to send me the information needed (link here) to get a refund and replacement.

Interior Designers / Hotels / Staging

I enjoy working with designers and being part of their vision for a space or project. I do offer commissions, large scale canvas prints which are great for public spaces such as hotels and corporate offices, and rentals for staging or commercial purposes.

Press

It is always exciting to work with editors, writers, and bloggers!  If you would like to use an image from my website all I ask is for you to give myself and my photographer credit.  Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have via email (through my contact form).  I am open to interviews and sharing any piece of the process you would like to share!

Who actually owns the painting?

I reserve all rights to the artwork I create, including sold and commissioned original paintings. This encompasses the right to reproduce any and all artwork I produce.

The collector or buyer is not permitted to reproduce the artwork in any form without written consent.

In the event that the artwork is reproduced in a magazine or other media (Thank you!!) I just ask that you give me credit: Occipital / occipitalnyc.com.  Also please send my way!  I love to share when someone takes the time to curate a space with my artwork or gives me a shout out.

Upon purchasing an original painting, the collector is granted the right to display the artwork in their home or business. However, the artwork may not be resold or reproduced without my written authorization.

Do not hesitate to reach out with any additional questions!
