A visual artist utilizing body language to convey emotion in her modern artwork

Occipital delves into her craft by sketching poses of the human form that reflect emotions inherent in an inspiration. The objective is for viewers to connect with her artwork based on their own experiences of similar emotions.

The Artist

Occipital

I have been crafting expressive artwork since 2015.  My creative journey began by transforming cherished memories with a beloved individual into art.  This practice that started as a personal experience caught the attention of others.

Since then, my work has evolved to encompass a multitude of inspirations, conveyed through the portrayal of body language in various poses of the human form.  I wanted this aesthetic and technique to have its own identity since the work has never been about myself.  Therefore instead of signing my name Giana Sacco I use the name Occipital.

Commissioned artwork for Jonah Platt and Courtney Platt

"The entire process from start to finish was so personal and professional. Occipital took painstaking care to create such a special piece for our home that we’ll cherish forever. She explained everything thoroughly every step of the way, was totally transparent about each step of the process, and made sure we were satisfied and happy at every turn. Thank you for this amazing future family heirloom!"
