"A Daily Reminder" is a piece made with a lot of intention. The focal point of the artwork is the phrase repeating down the background: "How Will I Use My Privilege?". The figure in this piece is stepping forward, shoulders back, standing confident, yet the head is slightly looking down to humble the pose. This was all done intentionally. I wanted the figure to be confident in their values and humbled to understand they are part of a bigger picture and have the ability to impact others. I wanted this piece to start a conversation and create awareness. I notice people stepping back and lingering on this painting and I wonder if they are asking themselves this question to themselves and if when they walk away does this question sticks in their mind as they go about their day.
