World Pride in NYC

In June 2019 New York City hosted World Pride.  The city was full of love, bright colors, music, and celebrations.  I created this painting after walking through the streets and feeling the energy shift amongst the community.  The vibes were bright so I felt it was time to introduce vibrant colors.  The figures’ body language in the piece mimic the feels that were in the air this month in June as people gathered from all over the world to celebrate love.  This is the first painting signed “Occipital” that is done in color and if you look closely the negative space where the yellow and green figure are joined is a heart shape.
