WORLD PRIDE 2019
Watercolor
11x15
In June 2019 New York City hosted World Pride. The city was full of love, bright colors, music, and celebrations. I created this painting after walking through the streets and feeling the energy shift amongst the community. The vibes were bright so I felt it was time to introduce vibrant colors. The figures’ body language in the piece mimic the feels that were in the air this month in June as people gathered from all over the world to celebrate love. This is the first painting signed “Occipital” that is done in color.
Movement Unfolding 2424b
Acrylic on canvas
24x24
This piece was painted during a collaboration with Brompton Junction New York. Brompton is a company that focuses on the freedom to travel and the journey itself by building folding bikes! The movement of the bike folding and the feeling of freedom inspired this painting. When the painting was complete it lived in the Brompton Junction Flagship store on Bleecker Street in the West Village.
